"Oil prices inched higher Friday in Asia, approaching US$72 a barrel, after renewed violence and kidnappings in Nigeria, Africa's biggest oil producer.
Light, sweet crude for August delivery gained 4 cents to $71.85 a barrel in Asian electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, midmorning in Singapore."

Stocks End Mixed As Bond Yields Rise

"As bond prices fell, the 10-year Treasury note's yield shot up to 5.14 percent Thursday from 5.04 percent Tuesday, ahead of the July 4th holiday. On Monday, the 10-year yield had slipped below the 5 percent level for the first time since early June."
