It was a trick question. An example at great distances if of course impossible to verify. It depends on what you call great. How would you establish the simultaneity of the change in state of the particles at these (great) distances?

Quantum entanglement at more than atomic distances has been demonstrated. Intercommunication has been ruled out, or transfer of information.. but this is a red herring, as the very act of entanglement seems to indicate some kind of communication/connection.
