I see some are ready for the victory parade. They need to know this last fight over immigration reform was no Gettysburg.

I was put off by this sentence early in the article.

But this was the full power, majesty, and bribing, arm-twisting immensity of the entire Bush Administration, led by the Commander in Chimp himself

That's something I'd expect from the KosKids. Show proper respect for the office at least.

we can count on it. Buying the Hispanic vote with amnesty and feeding big biz cheap labor has been the elite Republican strategy for more than a decade.

Karl Rove and clones aren't about to stop trying now.

Uncle, why is it called "immigration" when it is clearly invasion. <The immigration problem >

It's true it's not a military invasion, but over eons, for all mammals and other territorial animals, invasions were traditionally just a moving in of populations from one area to another.

The conflicts might come long afterwards as the struggle for supremacy in the new area takes place.

That struggle will take place. That's just how nature works.

One or other gene pool will have the dominant right stuff to take over. Meanwhile, while that struggle is underway, and has been since day one of each invaders invasion, the assets of the original population are usurped by the interlopers.

With the way the local yokels do things, the invaders even get gifts of money and a wide array of goods and services and use of assets such as roads, water supplies, spectrum, sewerage, footpaths, airports and all the rest.

It's quite amazing. It's as though the locals have lost the will to live and their sense of self.

While legal people like me get hassled at airports and comply with a multiplicity of silly laws, any garden-variety invader can move in and take possession and does. I don't even want to live there. I swing by, spend a load of money and leave.

Highly educated people from around the world who would contribute enormously to the USA's economic position and in other ways are frustrated in being accepted while umpty million low-value people swarm the border and get in, contributing a bit of low value domestic and agricultural work while obtaining expensive medical, educational and other services.

Americans are "over there" dying and being maimed to fight Moslems in Iraq who are never going to swarm the border, or do other injury to the USA, while the USA's actual territory is being successfully invaded.

It's quite crazy.
