I live in Waikiki and just sent your post to my Dermatologist.

I started reading the "Heart-Scan Blog" heartscanblog.blogspot.com six months ago. Reading the Cardiologist who blogs there convinced me to follow his supplement advice, and I am glad I did. The blog is a spin-off of the "Track-Your-Plaque" site. trackyourplaque.com

Since I have no known heart problems, I haven't gone on his diet. Which is a typical "all fruits and veggies with lean chicken and fish." Yech. Only if I have a heart attack. :>)

I started taking 3 1700mg Fish Oil soft-gels daily that I got at Costco. 200 for $17.00. I added 1 2000IU Vitamin D soft-gel daily that I got from the "Vitamin Shoppe," 120 for 7.22. vitaminshoppe.com

I have no way of knowing if these two products are doing my heart any good. Other than the fact that tests show they help. But an unexpected side effect has sure been nice. About four weeks into taking these two supplements, I noticed that my back pain was very much reduced. I figured it was just a typical "up" but when it stayed reduced over the next week I googled "back pain - Fish Oil" and "back pain - Vitamin D." I was surprised to find a long list of articles on both that indicated that they did help back pain. two months later, I am still benefiting from this side effect.

Since these two worked so well, I added "L-Arginine-Ornithine," the other recommended supplement. I take 6 2000mg capsules daily that I also get a Vitamin Shoppe. 300 for $34.99. vitaminshoppe.com Again, I have no way of knowing if they are helping my heart. A side effect that the Doctor talked about was an increase in "potency." I snickered at that. Surprise, surprise!
