Really Nadine! In WWII, the President had the ENTIRE country engaged. There was rationing of all kinds, scrap metal drives, the upper income tax rate was raised to 91% (and the rich didn't even WHINE about it!), Rosie the Riverter left the kitchen to build B-29's, no new cars were produced for domestic production, and on and on. The ENTIRE might of America was fully involved in the war effort, and glad to be. They LIVED the war, every inch of it, and felt it, every day.

Our CURRENT President has CUT taxes despite a huge deficit caused by the war expense and urged us to go shopping! This war isn't WWII - it's MUCH more like Vietnam, in innumerable ways.

Nadine .....you made this statement....
"If they had covered that operation like they cover Iraq, they would have spent the entire front page talking about nothing but the horrendous casualties. FDR would have been forced to negotiate a peace. We could still be trying to contain Nazi Germany today"

I have shown that ,in fact ,the casualties were much less than expected by the commanders...
Nadine face it.....your assertion could only have come about had our troops been repulced from the beach head and "Driven back into the sea" in defeat.

Nadine...you are a puffed up fraud .
How can we take anything you say seriously?
