<<The first choice for many SHIITES is a pro-Iranian, Shiite-dominated religious Iraq, where Sunnis have little say and little power.>>

The US has spent more than $US 15 Billion in building up Iraq's so-called new army and police, whose 350,000 manpower is heavily Shiite. The Shiites don't mind. They get the US supplied guns and in their own spare time, use them to kill the Sunni, who then respond with devastating road and car bomb attacks.

It is very likely that the US forces in and around Iraq will have to fight these same Shiites if the US attack their fellow Shiites in Iran. This does not seem to have occurred to anybody in US command.
