oh he's scared alright...

what you are witnessing in his posts is an attitude called "whistling in the dark"

there is a place for that

when there is no real threat

and your fears are a product of your imagination

that attitude in the context of a real threat is called:

denial

Well, you are entirely wrong on that point. I own a whole load of guns. They are in the USA though, not here (in the UK).

In most dangerous situations though, involving human beings, having a gun is beside the point.

Perceiving and understanding real and imagined threats, and understanding intentions is where the survival skills kick in.
