"Why do you think that even though we have much more of our population in jail and even though we execute our criminals we have such a higher murder rate?' Surely the question is rhetorical? Why - we have a semi permanent underclass condemed by low expectations and political correctness. Gangsta rap? Above all - we have allowed victimization to be a right and responsibility to be avoided. The whole situation is truly sad. Imus gets busted and the rappers get rich. It is political correctness run amuck!

What percentage of our population do you think needs to be in jail before our murder rates will be as low as Europe and Canada? This is not a contest with other countries to see who can have the lowest murder rate. Are you suggesting we should release 50% of those in jail so our percentage in jail is lower e.g. Canada? Why do you think that even though we have much more of our population in jail and even though we execute our criminals we have such a higher murder rate? Read Stevefoder's previous post #210188. He did not mention the crimes made by the 12-20 million illegal aliens roaming our streets.
