Thanks for the input, I agree on Cotto, he gets hit, a lot, just a matter of time until someone with skills and power, or a bull like Hatton, puts him away.

Not much interest for me in the heavyweights at all, would rather watch any random Mixed Martial Arts bout than just about any heavyweight fight, though I have to admit I have not seen much of Russians but if they are fighting the usual group of American stiffs it doesn't matter anyway.

Both Pavlik and Calzaghe would finally make Taylor fight a real fight and I think both are better skilled boxers than Taylor, with Pavlik also edging him on power. I actually think Calzaghe would embarass him like he did with Jeff Lacy.

Calzaghe Pavlik seems unlikely right now until either Calzaghe or Pavlik beat a bigger US name among casual boxing fans, or maybe the payday would be big enough and thus worth the risk for Calzaghe if they fought in Wales.

No talk of Hatton v Mayweather? Very entertaining. On the one hand, Hatton just kept pushing the action. On the other, he seemed to continually be holding. I was switching back and forth between the American and British broadcasts and, oddly, HBO had Hatton ahead in the early rounds while the Brits had Hatton actually taking a pounding. The three scorecards all had Mayweather way ahead (I think something like 89-81).

The big question now is whether Mayweather's "retirement" is going to last as long as he says. My guess is that, if he's smart, he'll wait until the money is there for another big showdown fight. Just fighting some of the other welterweights, while good boxing, probably won't be great sellers and worth the risk.
