Aha! You mean the congressional offices. I had in mind the screamers who effectively brought it down. Hard for me to imagine the left wing and right wing talk show hosts in cahoots.

As for the offices collaborating, I'm skeptical. I think that both sides would have been delighted to get an immigration bill passed if they could have just gotten the compromise shifted more in their direction. Perhaps at the eleventh hour they would have agreed that no bill was better than the proposal and worked together but not earlier. They were too busy trying to get their amendments.

In the case of this bill, I still haven't done the work necessary to determine if I think that we're better off with the proposed legislation or no legislation. If we work on building the fence, etc., while we dither, I guess a delay could be advantageous. My main objection was the lack of sequencing and doubts that enforcement would ever occur. Delay is good for the former, not good for the latter. While we delay, the numbers of illegals and cousins increase.
