Michael, it's pretty settled that the Tet Offensive was a North Vietnamese loss on the ground, more than offset by their victory in the American newspapers. Even the journalists now involved admit as much. Yes we lost the war. And the coverage of the Tet Offensive helped us lose.

That is the whole point of raising the point: American media coverage can influence the course of American wars. They are not just observers.
