I don't necessarily equate "religious fanaticism" with MORALS.

If I did I'd probably have to think that Muslims had a "stronger moral core" than Christians.

I would also probably think that those Christians that carried out the "Inquistion" had a "stronger moral core" than today's more moderate Christians.

In the 15th Century, I guess people like Columbus who tried to sail around the world in "defiance of Christian Doctrine" ONLY did so because they LACKED a "strong moral core".
