LIAR. 1996 is the operative year. In 1996 the US government had no clear evidence Al Qaida existed, or that OBL was behind anything. They were just starting to investigate. In fact Al Qaida as we know it didn't even exist in 1996. It was just forming. That is why this claim of the rightwing propaganda machine is so dishonest. It is basically lying to people that CLinton was offered a master terrorist and turned him down. Instead, Clinton was not offered anything but in 1996 was beginning to wonder what do to about this Osama fellow as more evidence was starting to come out showing her had gone over to the dark side. And also remember, the Saudi government was defending Osama and the BL family. Right after 9-11 they made sure Bush protefcted every single Bin Laden. That was a big priority for both Bush and the Saudis. Now what did Bush do before 9-11 about Al Qaida which was very well known to be extremnely guilty by then? Absolutely nothing. Not one single meeting or phone call. Bush is botha major liar and traitor. He deserved a court martial after 9-11, not to be glorified as a phony hero.
