The BBC and British government continue to council restraint, but Hamas' post-putsch swagger may have a mind of its own. The movement is being made to look like chumps by the Dagmush clan, which is undermining Hamas' attempts to restore order in Gaza. If the Dagmush clan and the Army of Islam can stand up to Hamas with impunity, Hamas may start to look like something of a paper tiger to other Gaza clans, the last thing Hamas wants. The BBC continues to censor all mention of the Dughmush clan and its standoff with Hamas. They had to mention something when the latest videotape came out, as it was clear by the videotape that Johhnston's kidnappers were in opposition to Hamas, but they have not yet mentioned "Dughmush clan" that I have heard. They have mentioned "Army of Islam" once or twice, but nothing about its affiliations. An interesting standoff. The Dughmush clan have enough power by holding Johnston to make Hamas look stupid and weak, but not enough to save themselves from Hamas' wrath. It's a fair bet that Hamas wants them all dead at this point whether Johnston lives or dies. And the Dughmush know it.
