You assume there is some there there....and clearly there is not.... I think we can both agree there's a big there there politically. This story has been hammering Bush and Cheney for years. I'm sure they'd love for it to go away already. It's also clear that Bush administration officials were bandying about the name of a covert agent to the press for political reasons. Whether or not it's a crime, it's a scandal and you can be sure the congress will be investigating. For the administration it would be nice to keep Libby out of jail and out of testifying. The commutation accomplishes both of those things. SD
