When I was a kid they taught us that terrorists were people of limited means that did small deads to "terrorize" us. It was our projection that was the worst enemy. And that if we didn't show fear, they didn't win. It seems elemental to me. We over-react; they won.

That thinking got lost somewhere along the line.
