Dan, If the hedge funds want to hold worthless shares of a dissolved company, (and continue to sell puts against those shares*)....

They don't have any sort of hedge against a short put position in owning shares You could sell calls backed up by the shares though.

Selling puts can get you assigned to purchase (more*) shares
