Low rates didn't do much for Japan I can't see it doing anything for the consumer end of the economy. Short sighted Detroit and Washington has been selling high margin SUVs
It's our turn to wallow in the muck for awhile while we try to figure out how to cope with lack of meaningful energy conservation practices and unaffordable, wasteful, overbuilt housing.

LBOs and liquidity have been mere short term crutches for the markets. They're clealy not sound economic polocies. SUVs and exotic mortgages were the short term answer to detroit's profits and the tech bubble crash.
