The GOP is totally split on immigration and hating Mexicans. The olde racist types have found a new race to hate, while the corporate rightwingers badly want more and more cheap labor to exploit. The immigration issue will not help anyone in next year's election. Especially since Bush-Cheney are pro illegal immigration and all the major candidates support Bush-Cheney.

Another thing, Hispanic voters were voting almost 40% for the GOP in 2001-2004. No mas. They know the party of racism when they see it. Expect no more than 20% of the Hispanic voters to be Repubs. This will have very long consequences. And remember, the Tancreado types are racists. They don't care about the American workingman losing jobs to Mexicans, they care about scapegoating one race and ethnic group. After all, you don't hear Tancreado complaining about any other races, do you?
