Jerusalem is only the most contested city in the world. Jews, Muslims, and Christians all consider it holy. Of the three, Jews were there first, but all religions incorporate previously existing traditions to gain credibility. Easter and Christmas, both have pagan history before they were redefined. Muslims have done the same thing and no doubt, Jews borrowed customs as they were emerging. An interesting bit of trivia is that a private Jewish school in England is very popular with Muslims because they like the kosher menu. * * *
