Funny, I drive that stretch of I-94 fairly regularly without an ounce of worry about my rights....but then again, I am not a mule. If I were to get into that business, my car would be in good working order, obeying traffic laws would not be an option and I would be smart enough to find a longer route between Detroit & Chicago. Any local sober person knows that is a popular route for those knuckleheads.....a lot of us appreciate the good police work that goes on there.

(And, it's been that way since the seventies... but it doesn't matter 'what road' you are on... or even if you are on a road. :-) The historic 'presumption of innocence' that prevailed in American law has been turned on it's head with regard to property. If a government alleges that 'the property must have come from something illegal' it is up to the ACCUSED to prove that it didn't (& the government gets to keep the property in the meanwhile....) The government doesn't have to 'prove' that money or property is the result of illegal actions any more --- only allege it. It is up to the accused to prove otherwise (against the resources of the government)....
