I "thought" Thompson was going to be pretty much a lock for the Republican Nomination, but then I saw him make that MAJOR faux pas when discussing Cuban Immigrants. The guy seems to have a tendency to "shoot from the hip" in his public comments and that could seriously hurt him with specific constituencies. I still think he can get the nomination, but NOW I think he'll have to "duke it out" with Rudi in the Blue States and he may be SO damaged that the Democratic Candidate might be able to just run away in the general election. Peter, if GOD came down and personally put a halo on one of the Democratic Candidates you still couldn't stomach them. IF a Republican President had had Clinton's record and been followed by a Democratic President with Bush's record you'd be SCREAMING that it was PROOF that Republican Presidents were better than Democratic Presidents and even YOU have to realize that.......................
