My main critique of Sicko was that it was short on facts in certain areas. For example when he was featuring that affluent French couple who were so happy with life.. he mentioned their income but he didn't get into their taxes. It would have been relatively simple to do a simple tax comparison between countries... because no health care system is 'free.'
He may have felt it would be too complicated. I know taxes in Canada are only slightly higher overall, than ours, but they pay far less for national defense. Of course we spend more on armaments than all other countries in the world combined.
He may have felt there is plenty of pro- propaganda out there in favor of our current system and against other methods, so why add to it. That said 'Sicko' cannot really be called a documentary. It is a very creatively produced polemic.
I still believe it is worth seeing. A friend who is a strong Republican, who saw it, now plans to check out all his other films, including Fahrenheit 911. She thought it was an eye opener. That tells me a lot right there.

I lived in Canada for awhile, and I thought that the health care system was very good. There were waits to see a specialist, but I wait here to see a specialist as well.
