The anti-colonial fashion is pathetic. The British Empire created more good on Earth than everything else, spreading the good to horrible little horror shows everywhere. <accomplish so much more so much faster than all the previous colonialism > Colonialism of the British kind was a good thing. Colonialism of the Nazi kind was not. African countries colonized by Britain were a LOT better off than those that now run their own show. Rhodesia was a good place for everyone. Zimbabwe is not. The evil-doing Americans booted the civilized English out so they could get on with slavery of Africans and massacre of indigenous people. Americans didn't even let women vote until recently and Negroes were forced to the back of the bus and out of the schools until my time. Right now, New Zealand is being colonized and I am happy with it. We encouraged our son to learn Japanese because they have the good values which create wealth. So he has earned his living by helping the Japanese. Xenophobes see colonialism as a bad thing, which it can be if it's the olde-style genocidal tribal conquest process followed by slavery, cruelty and theft. Africa won't accomplish by investment or education. Africa is not Singapore, with an average IQ over 100. Africa needs political process. The rest follows. Until the people at the top and holding the guns are civilized, no improvement can happen. NZ is going backwards because the people at the top cause it. They kill the goose that lays the golden egg then wonder why they are poor. Mqurice
