I think we are very terribly divided in this country, and if we aren't getting what we want, we are getting what we deserve. And I have run out of answers on how to resolve the problem.

I think the answer is compromise (precious little in government/politics today)- and then move on to another issue. These divisions exist because half the people feel one way and the others another. Abortion is a clear example - we as nation beat this issue every four years and never really call it done - what a waste of time and money. Both the left and right take stupid positions, it's not a human until birth is flat out insane and saying it's a human at birth is equally insane. Pick a date like five/six months and call it done.

That's what Roe vs Wade was supposed to have done.....it made it clear what was considered legal abortions. A portion of the people in this country.....I won't even say half because I think the number is less than half......won't accept that decision. That's why the issue keeps coming back up.

As I see it, there are two major groups of people each playing by a different set of rules. Until such time as we all agree to the same rules, there will be profound differences that push us into gridlock.
