I doubt it would be cost effective for the Chinese to fly over and install stone countertops. Or many other labor intensive jobs here in the US.

But I'm sure if he doubled his pay to what some of his competitors pay he could get Americans to do the work.

Or we'll simply buy from China - what I don't get is why Mexico doesn't start making crap to sell to us due the cost of living and labor differences like china does today and they don't even have NAFTA. Is their government really so f*cked up they can't start or attract businesses?


As I understand it, one of the reasons they put NAFTA so close to border was to keep finished products loaded on trucks from getting 'lost'. That's, in addition, to the corruption. I'm sure you've heard stories about the Mexico City police and how the residents are terrified of them.
