My favourite toll road is the Millau bridge in France. What a beautiful thing.

New Zealand is too dopey to have tolls on roads. We prefer absurd traffic jams as pointless low value journeys are made during peak times.

For half a century Auckland Harbour Bridge has been jammed. If they had left the original toll in place, they could have funded three crossings and motorways from Whangarei to Wellington and all over the place. Plus another airport to the north of Auckland.

Reducing the tolls was a windfall gift to land owners on the North Shore.
