They lost a 50 year insurgent war to the IRA. You need to add a zero onto that number if you know any Irish history. Besides, I can't see how they "lost". We don't even need an embassy in Northern Ireland, never mind had to evacuate it. The catholics have a higher birth rate then the protestants in Northern Ireland, in a democracy that spell trouble. Similar situation in Israel. So, it comes down to whether you believe in a true democracy or not. As far as "Bugger Eating Savages" is concerned, you can see as much of that on both sides. The horrors are divided quite evenly.
