Yes the US made a mistake in iraq either by the way it administered the war or by going to war in the first place. In either case the operation of the war sucked. To defeat the terrorists, its in both our interests that we have a chance at getting to a better place in iraq. You as a Sunni (my assumption) might have some good ideas on how this can be done. Instead of being angry all the time, maybe you could work on that. What the US did is done. How do we create a solution that is both good for iraqis and for American fp?
