Ted, I don't see that kind of risk in the US, where most Muslims have been assimilated into the American culture. There was a great article about terrorism in England and Europe where the Muslims have been treated like second class citizens. Based on my experiences, Pakistanis and other Muslims are the butt of every racist joke in England.

If we don't begin to priortize all of the challenges in Muslim cultures, we won't be able to see the obvious values that we are bringing to places like Iraq. We keep rounding up cop killers and wiping out cells of terrorists. Too bad we don't get to hear what more Shi'a and Kurds think about our mission in Iraq. Instead of hearing the broad consensus of support, the press only reports the criticism from Shi'a militia like al Sadr.

Why is our own press out to undermine all of our efforts. They see with their own eyes what is happening in Iraq. Why doesn't the Iraqi government to do more to tell the American population how much they need our support. They need to be praying 5 times a day to Allah, and asking for global support from their American allies at least 10 times a day.

Islam is a religion that preaches intolerance. You reap what you sow, and right now they have a bunch of religiously trained psychopaths on their hands. They have created a LEFTIST rebellion against local governments, and are trying to sow more hatred and intolerance among the common people to generate support under the guise of jihadi sacrifice. Sure, they are religiously motivated, but the real sense of zeal is driven by their quest to seek power from the governments which our country has vowed to support.

Really, the hatred in the ME against the US and local governments is no different than the hatred the Demcorats have for Bush in the US today. The main difference is that the Democrats are not fighting for scraps of meat in the streets, so they have not resorted to physical violence.

The real question is how do your treat someone that breaks the law, even if that person is starving. The only answer can be to put them in jail the moment they start resorting to violence against their people and their governments. We cannot let natural born killers inheret political office in countries like Iraq, or the cycle of internal violence will lead to regional conflict and war.

One of these days, we will need some support from the rest of the world. Russia, Europe, China, Korea, Japan, and the major economic partners will have to reform an alliance to support the Muslim people. If NATO was such a strong alliance to take on the Russian army, why can't they pull together hundreds of thousands of troops to redeploy into Afghanistan and Iraq. I'm not a big fan of adding more troops since there is little we can do to predict armed movements by the terrorist organizations. I think we just need a big enough presence to respond to the violence and keep weeding out the terrorists.

People can say they are willing to die like the people in the Red Mosque. However, we see the leaders sneaking out the back door dressed like a woman. They aren't all as fearless as the empty words of the press might suggest. Which brings me to my last thought for the day. All the press is doing is spitting out stats and rhetoric without bringing any talent or journalism to the situation. They are consumed by the negativity of war and conflict, without giving any thoughts about the situations demanding the use of force. They implicitly absolve all the terrorists by failing to show the horrors of their actions against the people and governments of their own countries. Rather, they just come to the swift conclusion that the fundamentalists are producing more hatred for their governments and the US.
