Why should he announce? He seems to be doing quite well as is and avoids a lot of media negative attention. jdn

Good point!

Still... it does seem a bit odd that he 'missed' the obvious set piece iconography of an Independence Day announcement... and, he can't remain 'officially unannounced' for too much longer without running the risk of being perceived as a tease, or unserious.

Still --- it seems to be working for him thus far, from 'nowhere' to poll position (matching Rudy's numbers, but rising, not falling in the polls like Rudy).

Guess perhaps Thompson is too busy on the hustings for contributions... and wants to make a splashier entrance.
