Good article.

My belief is that employment of illegals is very much changing the supply/demand situation and blunting wages. And my WAG is that it is skewing the unemployment rate numbers somehow.

What rate of unemployment represents "no slack" is both variable and always uncertain. Things like changes in productivity, immigration, inflationary expectations, foreign competition, and other factors can effect wage demands and other factors of inflation.
