CJ, > Have you actually read the book? Or just saw the TV adaptation?

I read the book back in high school. Didn't know there was a TV adaptation. It would make a great big budget movie today. (Demolition Man doesn't count, even though that was a great guy movie.)

You're arguing over details now, so I'll just relate back to my original point. In Brave New World, the babies' future roles in society were already pre-determined. Whether through eugenics or gestational manipulation, it doesn't matter. What matters is Darwinism relies on mutation and natural selection, i.e. the killing off of mutations that aren't fit. BNW goes a step further and controls the entire process itself according to what society needs.

To relate that to "good prenatal care available on an income basis" is quite a leap of logic. I wouldn't characterize the liberal position that way ... it would be too insulting! ;-)
