i agree that illegals pay a myriad of california taxes. i'd also argue that an oregon student may well pay lots of california taxes while going to school, too. ;-)

there's no guarantee that the illegal has been supporting the system for decades prior to going to school.

i'm a bit torn on the issue.

i do not blame anyone for trying to better themselves. period.

then again, i feel bad for the people ground down by the immigration system that can't get in while 15 million folks just walked over the boarder for free.

also, this is about driving down the wages of lower skilled americans so the large corporations can increase their bottom line. it seems to be an open borders person ought to be making every effort to help out those paying the cost of such a program in lower wages... or do we only care in a selective manner?

anyway, the issue is quite complex with many different themes. i am a bit angry when two border patrol agents, who independently said they saw a weapon pointed in their direction, are sitting in jail for a decade for defending themselves from a multi time million dollar drug smuggler.

he's an admitted liar, he's smuggling a million bucks, he's caught a second time, the dea recommends charges be filed, yet the sutton doesn't follow up on the case and the judge in the case REFUSES to allow the second drug run to impeach the credibility of a guy who lied under oath and claimed to haul a million bucks worth of drugs, unarmed, for his sick grandma.

sutton says he wasn't arrested as though that means these are all lies, but he neglects to tell anyone that the dea investigated and suggested he file charges, for which he refused - it might ruin his effort to convict border agents. witnesses can testify the drug runner looked like this guy and, this is the kicker, he still had his colostomy bag attached!

that;s not enough for sutton who prefers t allow drug cartels and drug runner to have immunity while he salivates about putting border agents into jail for a decade and misleading the public about the evidence in this case. he was more than happy to allow the federal government lie to congress for 5 months, too.

he claims the guy was unarmed in public,m but he has ZERO evidence this is true and TWO DIFFERENT AGENTS say they saw a weapon pointed at them and a bullet wound is in the side of the guy's behind as though he were turned and, you guessed it, pointing a weapon at the agent who shot him.

anyway, it will get screwed up one way or the other.
