I live my life so differently, I really don't think I can say what's good or bad for other people, and I certainly don't want other people telling me what to do.

I think those things that tend to bring pleasure, are generally good. Things that make you miserable should be avoided. Those are generalizations, of course, and there are exceptions- but that's my general rule. So if I were making the rules, Muslim women who like the veil would wear it, and those that didn't wouldn't. But I don't make the rules, and I have no idea what impact my sort of lifestyle would have on the world. I don't think most people are really prepared to enjoy themselves. Many people seek out belief systems that involve guilt and shame (or even suicide, like the poor Heaven's Gate folks)- I've no idea why, but people seem to gravitate toward these sorts of systems, and I can only assume they offer something- which makes me feel unqualified to judge what is "good" for people who like those sorts of lifestyles.
