The war was based on the assumption that the people of Iraq were basically good but were being oppressed by a small minority. That assumption was wrong. The whole country and everyone in it stinks to the high heaven. It's in their culture, it's in their food, it's in the air they breath. Rotten from top to bottom.

Adnan al-Dulaimi, head of a Sunni Arab party, said those pushing for a pullout did not understand how fragile Iraq was.

That's hysterical. Dulaimi is associated with the Muslim Scholars, the political front for the insurgency. They just spent four years killing Americans, NOW they wake up and figure out they are a weak minority. So Scratch Yankee Go Home! Yankee Stay Here!

Arabs are such utter political morons. There is no other conclusion to draw.
