IMHO, the only way Discover can win BIG is to invest hugely in building a global network. As the article mentions, it may not be too late to grab a market slice in countries less saturated with plastic (although, 10 years ago was even better and they did exactly nothing :(( ). If DFS goes aggressively for international network, I think it might be worth investing in it. Otherwise it may be a value play at some price, but you would need to crunch numbers assuming stable business (i.e. very little growth).

Let me know when/if they commit to build a global network and I may hop on board. ;)

P.S. OT, I owned previous company that traded under DFS symbol, <shudder>, bad memories...
