Did you see that article on California building a 70 Megawatt solar farm? It will be the biggest in the world and will generate huge profits for California solar companies. I'm betting that SunPower will reap most of the benefits, since it is located in Silicon Valley.

Solar power's day in the sun is here. I predict that by the time California finished their 70 megawatt solar farm, the price of installed, residential solar cells will have come down far enough to make it cost competitive with electricity from coal-fired power plants. All solar cells have needed was the opportunity to get mass produced so that economies of scale would kick in. That is guaranteed to happen in the next few years, now that so many huge solar farms are being built around the world.
