Phil > Who is enemy No.1 anyway? Al Qaeda seems to be the buzzword, as ostensibly, the Americans have been fighting Al Qaeda since 911, and now apparently they have expanded in force in Iraq and other places.

Al Qaeda is any "enemy" the US wants it to be. It exists in all countries and no countries but it especially exists in countries that the US wants to invade or has invaded. In other words, Al Qaeda is the raison d'etre for the existence of the US war machine and for the American "empire" in the Mid East.

> Al Qaeda is Osama's organization isn't it?

Yes it was, seemingly until they ran out of video tape about him.

> Iran and Al Qaeda have been at war with each other in Iraq.

Likewise, Saddam and Islamic fundamentalists were at war with each other. But there is no logic to Al Qaeda -- it strikes enemies and friends alike, anytime, anywhere. It is a law unto itself.

> the US claims Iranian weapons are killing their soldiers, which means that Iran must be cozying up to their enemy the Al Qaeda, or does it?

Yes and no!

> Then there is Hamas in Gaza who is bad, Abbas and his unelected government in the west bank who is good, Hezbolla, part of the elected government in Lebanon is bad, but the President is good.

That's this week. Next week it can all be different -- except for one thing -- poor, little, defenceless Israel will be struggling night and day against hordes of Jihadists and terrorists who do not recognize its right to exist.

> What a confusing mess.

That's if you wish to be confused. But actually, it's quite simple. Al Qaeda is meant to be the devil incarnate which incorporates everything bad as far as everyone is concerned. But if you can see clearly you will realize that Al Qaeda was created by the US and does what the US wants. It is the US' alter ego in other words. Al Qaeda is bad, the US is good, Al Qaeda hates democracy, the US wants democracy, Al Qaeda is a terrorist killer, the US brings love etc, etc.
