From all accounts, California has the single largest population of illegals. "Yes and the biggest group of women in this category are black - so the problem is a home grown problem and not entirely imported." Yep. And it helps perpetuate the cycle of poverty. Certainly, it isn't the only reason. But probably the easiest and cheapest to fix. "Actually yes - socialism is bad when carried too far." Wouldn't claim any different. Unrestricted capitalism has its downsides, too. A little socialism helps take some of the edge off and provides a little security for the average person. Which makes life in general more pleasant.
