It doesn't have to be high. In fact, if we could cut emissions by using technologies controlled by American companies, it would boost our competitive position and defund some not so nice countries.


So far the law of "unintended consequences" seems to be the rule for corn based ethanol - causing a rise in corn prices and raising feed costs for cattle and thus other foods. Which is a problem - but I wonder with all this new corn production and previous stories of farmers being paid to not produce food (to protect the market) have they had their government handouts reduced?
