Don't you see that people who use to accept us and admire our way of life now hate us? Who would that be? The people on the "Arab street" that have burned American flags and called us the Great Satan for the past 40 years? Or the fanatics that are a significant portion of the population that have hated us for over 80 years? Who are these people that used to love us so? Bush by his policy has done more for Islamic extremism than Bin Laden could ever have imagined As Bin Laden remarked, people like the strong horse. Polls in the Muslim world since 2003 indicated a very precipitous decline in acceptance of terrorism as a legitimate method of war, everywhere but Jordan and the Palestinian territories. I imagine even the Palestinians may have cooled on it a bit since Hamas has been in charge.
