There is more to my mother's poor health than just the death of my dad. For nearly 2 years before he was admitted to a nursing home, mom tried to care for him and didn't let the rest of us know what a burden he was becoming. That totally drained her and she was near a breakdown when she finally had to go public about his condition. He lasted 13 months in the home, never really knowing where he was. He thought it was a hospital and we let him believe that. He also thought he had been there a couple weeks and was going back home "early next week".
