KT,

Clinton WAS in the hip pocket of the high tech companies, but he also did absolutely nothing about all the corruption on Wall St and in corporate America during the period of rape and pillage. He also didn't seem to mind the Fed and IMF bail out policies that contributed to a lot of the excesses and transferred even more wealth. I admire Rubin's intelligence, but a lot of that was probably his doing. Being from a joint like GS, what would you expect? I thought it was comical that some people were surprised that GS has become a target of terrorism. I was surprised it took so long.

I don't buy the argument that Clinton was OK because Bush sucks worse. It's a partisan perspective. I think Bush is a moron and have no problem saying so. That doesn't change my view of Clinton.

I don't think the dollar's value and policy comes from the president or is necessarily related to current actions. The dollar was doomed in the 90s when Greenspan kept using monetary policy to bail out bankers and Wall St. That we are coping with the effects now under Bush has nothing to do with Bush or Bernanke. If anything, Bernanke has been a huge improvement over the over-hyped knucklehead that came before him.
