I'm sure there are Museums that would love to have those photos when you no longer want them.... My thoughts are like yours regarding this: History is history and very interesting however no matter what our backgrounds, (and I was fortunate to love those I knew) we all have to stand alone and be responsible for our own decisions, good or bad, do we not? I'm thinking prolly 'the buck stops here' should be right for each of us as an individual instead of the background game and the blame game and 'it depends upon what your definition of 'is' is' (a famous quote I believe <wink>) I have worked on Genealogy for so long now that it seems I actually "know" some of those who went before me. My Mom didn't want me to start delving into things when I first started to do so in the 70's....But I told her: "Each person who came before us had their own life to live....their own situations, their own surroundings, etc. BUT I want to know what those situations, times, etc were, and how they coped with the challenges that were in their paths and the results of that...." I think she thought we might find something awful....her folks didn't have much money, and my dad's folks and family did have more....but of course, all that had nothing to do with anything. Her's was the fear of the unknown. She finally understood, and started working with me and enjoying the personal history search. She was an only child, and we found all sorts of cousins that she knew nothing about....
