If Congress approves President Bush's pending request for another $147 billion for the budget year starting October first, the total bill for the war on terror would reach more than three-quarters of a trillion dollars.

Almost daily, the local news either reports someone from the state who has died in the war or shows guys/gals coming back missing an arm or a leg or both. As horrific as that is, I then get to find out those mutilations and deaths cost us nearly a trillion dollars.
