I've always felt that it would be logical for there to be a hierarchy of beings above us, just as there are hierarchy of beings "below" us. Many of the beings below us are completely unaware of our being. The microbes and viri that live inside us - we're their universe. To a bedbug, we're just a massive lump of food. To us, the beings greater than us might seem like Gods. We only notice the minuscule beings below us when they cause us distress, and usually exterminate them. As above, so below.
