warrior2010: I probably would start with IBD if I didn't already know the best of breed in various sectors. IBD does a great job of ranking stocks according to relative strength, earnings growth, sector rankings, etc.

I do watch Fast Money and CNBC during the day, and do a lot of research online and get ideas from various sites, including message boards. The latter is how I found Petrobank Energy, which is a hidden gem.

IBD, Yahoo, Bigcharts.com, and other free or low cost sites and sources categories by sectors.

Of those sectors you mention, I only like semis right now. Unless you are considering short.

regards,

drbob

warrior,

One of the best places that I show my students to go is stockcharts.com and look on the left side for Market Carpet.

There are many categories to study.....

Let me know if you have any problems....
