The fact that the war has not gone as well as we would have liked also does not mean the initial decision was in error....

True.

But it was in error. Bush had masterfully forced Iraq to let the inspectors back in. But that wasn't enough for Bush. That's where he screwed up. Invading seemed like a stupid and stubborn decision then and it seems even more stupid now.
