Yep. I was around. One good thing Jimmy did, and perhaps he understood this better than this administration, was to declare that we needed a comprehensive program for oil independence. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve came out of that, for starters. But beyond that, Jimmy sucked. I remember when Ross Perot was hailed as an American hero, because he dipped into his own pile of cash to do something when Jimmy did nothing. Until this Presidency, I have always been a die-hard conservative, Republican, and always thought Jimmy was the worst President. Thanks to Bush, I no longer consider myself Republican and I think Bush is the worst.
